Erasmus+ Agri-Nature-Mentor
The Erasmus+ Agri-Nature-Mentor project’s scope

Duration 2024-2026
Project background
Engaging farmers to adopt nature-friendly farming methods does not work well if the communication uses scientific language and reports written by conservationists. The gap between agriculture and nature conservation must and can be bridged – the two sides need help understanding each other.
What is needed is to present nature as an opportunity and a benefit, not as a grim duty or a set of prohibitions, and to appreciate and value it when farmers are doing actions in favour of the environment and their community.
Project aim
Agri-Nature-Mentor aims to develop a training program for experienced farmers (‘mentors’), which will empower them to share this knowledge to interested other farmers and landowners (‘mentees’) who would like to change or adapt their way of agricultural practices. The project will build on successful farmer mentoring initiatives, from Europe and beyond, where the farmer is the central figure.
