Those who have tuned in to our TUNE IT project will remember our early spring explorations of the benefits nature provides humankind.
As spring turned to summer, days became longer, and temperatures started to rise: it was a new opportunity to expand our knowledge of ecosystem services and nature benefits. During the long walks to the training course venue, in the sunny and scorching hot city of the Croatian capital, Zagreb, we started to experience and appreciate, among other things, the importance of regulating ecosystem services.
The Zagreb event concluded a series of three modules organised under the Erasmus+ project ‘Nature Benefits: from Theory to Practice (TUNE IT)’ and delivered in English. By the time the final module took place, we had already been introduced to the concept of ecosystem services and nature benefits and heard some examples of good practice. So, it was time to consider the next steps and the future. Thus, Module 3 – ‘Planning for Future Action,’ aimed to guide participants through developing an action plan and identify the steps needed to implement the concept of ecosystem services and nature benefits in their—or their organisation’s —daily work.
On the first day of the module, the participants were introduced to the key steps of action plan development. They also had the opportunity to raise questions or uncertainties with the moderators. On the second day, combining the practical elements with the knowledge gained, each participant produced an action plan, which was discussed in a consultation group on the third and final day of the module.

The module was delivered by Eurosite – The European Land Conservation Network, Wageningen University & Research and Natuurpunt. It was organised under the Erasmus+ project ‘Nature Benefits: from Theory to Practice (TUNE IT)’ as the third of three training modules in English. The content of the modules will be adapted to the national context and presented by the project partners during four national courses delivered in four additional languages – Croatian, Dutch, Turkish and Ukrainian – by the end of 2024.
