Hands-on nature conservation in Portugal!

Within the framework of the project “LIFE ELCN”, Montis and NABU invite you to a one-week work camp on natural engineering, site restoration and monitoring in central Portugal.

The work camp will take place near the town of Sao Pedro do Sul, where participants will do practical field work on a site managed by Montis, including:

  • soil regeneration using natural engineering techniques
  • control of invasive plant species and vegetation maintenance
  • bird, amphibian and other species monitoring and leisure activities.

The event will bring together nature lovers and conservationists from various countries around the world. Transport from Porto to the camp site, housing (or camping, depending on the weather) and food are for free. You only need to cover your transport costs to Porto.

Participants will meet at Porto Airport on Monday 8 April at 14:00 local time and travel to Carvalhais together. The group will return to Porto Airport on 14 April around noon.

The number of participants is limited to 15. If you are interested in participating, send an e-mail to tilmann.disselhoff@elcn.eu. Registration deadline is March 1, 2019.
