A label for nature conservation can allow consumers to identify whether products or services are produced through environmentally friendly methods. 65% Of voluntary food labelling schemes in Europe are privately runned. Such labels are widely used on private lands and have shown to be an effective tool to support private land conservation initiatives.
In this workshop we share and discuss the findings of a European review conducted on the use of voluntary nature friendly labels for private land managers in Europe, with practical examples and experiences from a wide range of stakeholders.
This discussion will feed into a policy paper for the benefit of producers, consumers and nature conservation in Europe.
