Full title:
Preparatory Actions for Natura 2000: Dealing with conflicts in the implementation and management of Natura 2000 Network - Best practices at the local / site level.
Overall objective of the project:
To promote best practices for achieving an appropriate balance between potentially conflicting interests and uses of Natura 2000 sites in order to ensure both the engagement of the population and the respect of the ecological value of the site.
Specific project objectives:
To assess the current situation, based on a review of current best practices, in terms of who is involved in using Natura 2000 sites, what conflicts can be distinguished, what causes them to exist, and how are stakeholders involved.
To identify and review good examples by selecting 20 best practice cases on the basis of objective criteria.
To contribute to the transposition of lessons learned by formulating recommendations based on the inventory, assessment and best practices and communicate them to various organisations involved.
