The Fifth International Conference on Monitoring and Management of Visitor Flows in Recreational and Protected Areas (MMV) will be held in the city of Wageningen, The Netherlands, from 30 May  to 3 June.   
 
Goal
The MMV conference provides an international forum for presentations and other exchanges of ideas and experiences related to the monitoring and management of visitors in recreation and protected areas. The emphasis will be on practices, problems, policies and innovative solutions.
 
Who should attend
The conference welcomes all researchers and scholars, public sector and industry managers, consultants, planners and NGO’s dealing with visitor management in recreational and protected areas.
 
Sessions
Plenary sessions with internationally acknowledged keynote speakers (from both scientific and managerial perspectives) and sessions for over 160 oral and poster presentations are organized. Symposia and workshops on further topics are convened by participants.
 
Schedule and program
The conference will be held from May 30 to June 3rd, 2010. The program includes three days of symposia and workshops with plenary, oral and poster sessions. Also included is a half day excursion to the National Park “De Hoge Veluwe” with its famous Kröller Müller Museum, with its collection of paintings by Vincent van Gogh, George Seurat, Pablo Picasso, Fernand Leger, Piet Mondriaan and many other leading artists.
On June 3rd a post-conference tour is scheduled to the Weerribben-Wieden National Park; the largest fresh-water wetland in north-western Europe.
