Joint working Eurosite & EUROPARC

Eurosite and EUROPARC meet

At Eurosite's Annual General Meeting in September last year, members agreed to set up a joint committee with EUROPARC to discuss future plans for cooperation between our two organisations. The first meeting of that joint committee took place in Regensburg (Germany) in November 2010.

Eurosite President Henkjan Kievit and Eurosite's Head of Network Services Neil McIntosh joined EUROPARC President Erika Stanciu, EUROPARC Council member Marian Woltgen-Jäger and Thomas Hansson, EUROPARC's Nordic Baltic section President and Eurosite's deputy council member for Sweden, and all cordially discussed the shared vision of our two organisations.

A strong consensus quickly emerged to ensure that the best interests of members of both organisations would be best served through a collaborative and combined purpose and action. Options for future closer liaison were also considered and these will be further investigated.

We will of course keep you updated with discussions and with any concrete results from these meetings.
