Gokova Bay

Eurosite is a sub-contracted partner for a project funded by the Dutch Government looking at marine and coastal integrated management planning for Gokova Bay in Turkey.

Eurosite’s main activities included development of a highly successful project workshop, which took place 4 to 6 October 2009 in Gokova Bay. This event was attended by 69 delegates and Eurosite was represented by Tour du Valat and EUCC. Representatives from the project’s main partners have been invited to participate in the Marseille Marine and Coastal workshop in September 2010 and encouraged to establish active links to Eurosite’s marine and coastal working group. In addition, Eurosite has supported the development of a twinning between the Environmental Protection Agency for Special Protected Areas in Turkey (a Eurosite member) and Parco Nazionale Della Cinque in Italy.
