International Year of Biodiversity

To celebrate 2010 as the International Year of Biodiversity, a competitionis organised in 5 European countries (Hungary, Germany, France, Slovakia,Spain) to reward the most active cities protecting their natural heritage.In France, for instance, the national competition is launched on 20 Januaryin the presence of international personalities, in order to elect thenational capital for biodiversity. This competition is organised with thecollaboration of IUCN, ICLEI and is supported by the European Commission.
