World Wetlands Day is this year celebrated with the theme “Forests for Water and Wetlands”. Wetlands International marked the day by launching its new initiatives to reverse the loss of the world’s wetland forests such as forested peatlands and mangroves.  

The 2010 Red List of Finland's Species was published on 1 Dec 2010. The publication can be found here: http://www.environment.fi/redlist.  

A Paralia Workshop was held on the 6th and 7th July in Brussels. The attached report summarizes the presentations and points of view of the participants on matters incl. Natura2000, water frame work and habitats directives.  

In collaboration with Staatsbosbeheer, Eurosite has produced a plaque to show your employees and visitors that your organisation is a member of the Eurosite network.  

As announced by John Watkin, Grant Director Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund - Conservation International, during the Marseille Workshop (1-3 September 2010), the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund is launching a Call for Proposals to select its Regional Implementation Team which will lead its investment strategy for the Mediterranean Basin Biodiversity Hotspot for 5 years. The deadline is 1 November 2010.
