Searching for a twinning partner to join WWF OASI's Climate Change Initiative

 WWF OASI, a limited liability company within the WWF Foundation and Eurosite member, is very interested in having one or more of its sites participate in a Eurosite Twinning programme.  We have initiated a climate change project involving many protected areas (within Italy) representing a wide variety of habitats and ecosystems and we were hoping to find a European partner who would like to ‘twin’ with one of our sites.

Programme Objectives:

1.　　　　 Develop an ecological assessment and monitoring programme to determine the impact of climate change on natural ecosystems

2.　　　　 Determine the carbon sequestration capacity of natural ecosystems within WWF protected areas

3.　　　　 Establish a climate change interpretive centre to gather data on a national scale, such as the monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions

Considering that the management of protected areas in the context of a changing climate is a cross border issue, a Eurosite twinning could be the ideal tool to ensure the success of our project.
