Giving members a voice at the European level

The European Facilitation Service (EFS) provides members with greater opportunities to discuss issues of importance for European nature conservation. Within this, focus is given to matters impacting specifically upon site management - in particular EFS works by:

  • Communicating change regarding EU policy and legislation of interest to nature conservation practitioners;
  • Increasing understanding about nature conservation policy and legislation;
  • EU financing for nature conservation – providing information about funding opportunities and offering guidance on project application;
  • Describing EU institutions and relationships between pan-European and national organisations.

The EFS raises the profile of the Eurosite network and its members in Brussels. Regular participation in meetings and consultations with the European Commission ensure that network members have a voice at the European level.
