Conflict management for Natura 2000

Eurosite is searching for examples of the successful management of conflict on Natura 2000 sites. We are searching for brief case studies that describe the approach taken to achieve conflict resolution successes on (or around) Natura 2000 sites in order to ensure their appropriate management.

If you are involved in the management of Natura 2000, we hope that you can provide us with an example.

In particular, we are looking to collect examples of ‘tried and tested’ methods of conflict resolution, delivered at the local level, which have resulted in:

  • A shift from ‘stakeholder opposition’ to stakeholder participation and stakeholder cooperation;
  • Effective local level ‘cooperative management’ of Natura 2000 sites.

If you wish to contribute an example, please download this brief questionnaire (also available for download at the bottom of the page), and return to info@eurosite.org, before the end of October 2009.

The questionnaire takes no more than 10-15 minutes to complete. The information that we collect will be used to produce a report to communicate the various successful approaches taken in Europe in order to resolve conflict for the management of Natura 2000 sites.

Please direct any questions or comments to info@eurosite.org.
