Planning for biodiversity - expert conference of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council

The Ministry of the Environment of the Republic of Poland and the General Directorate for Environmental Protection are organizing the expert conference “Planning for biodiversity” which will be held on 7-9 November 2011 in Warsaw. On the third day there will be a field session in selected places in Warsaw and its vicinity.

The conference will be an important event of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council in the scope of biodiversity priority. Representatives of EU Member States, European Commission, scientific institutions and NGOs are among invited participants.

The conference will be dedicated to various aspects of both terrestrial and marine spatial planning as an effective tool in protecting biodiversity. The best practices and experiences of EU Member States in this matter will be presented. The main goal of the conference will be to reach conclusions which would help improve the efficiency of spatial planning as a very efficient tool used in nature conservation.
